Seoul: The little child 'Baby Shark' returns to the stage to debut as a K-pop artist. The former child star from the legendary "Baby Shark Dance" music video, which became the most-viewed video in YouTube history, released her first official K-pop digital single on Thursday, after achieving global fame and becoming a viral sensation for over a decade.

According to Thai News Agency, Park Geon-ryong, who appeared in the music video at the tender age of 7, entered the K-pop scene as a solo artist under the catchy name "Baby Shark Boy," with full support from Pinkfong Company, the copyright holder of the Baby Shark song.

Park Geon-ryong revealed that the song "Baby Shark Dance" once brought joy to people around the world, and he was deeply touched that everyone still remembers the boy from that time even after 10 years. This bond has become a major inspiration that made him want to return to singing and communicating with fans through music once again.

This catchy song about a shark family was first released in 2016 and quickly became a phenomenon, racking up over 17.2 billion views. It was even played at the White House and received praise from U.S. President Donald Trump and numerous other celebrities, leading to dance tracks and parodies appearing all over the world.

Following his breakout success with the aforementioned video, Park Geon-ryong has consistently collaborated on various Pinkfong programs. He revealed that his new digital single, "WAVE," begins with a familiar Baby Shark melody before transitioning into an energetic electro-pop style. He also participated in writing the lyrics. He confidently stated that this work marks the beginning of a new musical journey, not just a temporary project, and that he hopes to showcase new sides of himself through diverse music and content in the future.
