Beijing: Chinese state media released photos of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra joining a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Heroes in Tiananmen Square in central Beijing, China, today during an official visit to China.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai-language news service of Xinhua News Agency released the photos today after it was reported yesterday that the Thai prime minister paid an official visit to China. It is expected that the visit to China will promote bilateral relations, further expand economic cooperation for mutual benefit, and restore Chinese tourists’ confidence in traveling to Thailand, while 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand.
The report also said that this was Ms. Paetongtarn’s first visit to Beijing since becoming Thai prime minister in August 2024. Shortly after becoming prime minister, she expressed her commitment to strengthen bilateral ties between Thailand and China, stressing that the friendship between the two countries is based on “mutual trust and respect, a shared vision for prosperity and progress, and the close ties between the peoples.”
