Chulaphan Stresses Coalition Etiquette in No-Confidence Motion Voting

Bangkok:Chulaphan Amornvivat, Minister of Labour and leader of the Pheu Thai Party, has emphasized the importance of political etiquette for coalition parties in the upcoming vote on the no-confidence motion. Despite accusations of collusion with senators who previously opposed the motion, Chulaphan reiterated that coalition members must not interfere with the Pheu Thai Party's ministerial positions.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chulaphan addressed the party's stance on the no-confidence debate, noting that only Bhumjaithai Party ministers are included in the motion. He expressed confidence that Pheu Thai, as an integral part of the government, can adequately explain its work and responsibilities during the debate. He assured that the ministers involved will be able to clarify any issues raised.

Mr. Chulaphan further affirmed that as a coalition government, the Pheu Thai Party has no concerns regarding the voting process. He highlighted that while voting is a right of each member, political courtesy requires them to support and collaborate with each other. In response to questions about collusion allegations against the Senate, he stated that the Pheu Thai Party would wait to hear the debate on principles. He pointed out that the Senate's processes, including the Election Commission's work, have progressed significantly, and principles must be upheld.

Regarding speculation about the Kla Tham Party joining the government, Mr. Chulaphan mentioned that there have been no discussions yet. However, he noted that such a move could strengthen the coalition, provided it does not interfere with positions held by the Pheu Thai Party. He confirmed that initial discussions have already taken place, and the Pheu Thai Party is committed to the original agreement.
