Lampang: The school director explained the reason for building a kindergarten bathroom without a door because the school focuses on the safety of the students, especially the young children in kindergarten, some of whom are still unable to use the bathroom by themselves. For elementary school children, from Grade 1 onwards, there are regular rooms for the students.
According to Thai News Agency, after the social world shared a lot, the bathroom of a kindergarten in Lampang Province was a shared bathroom and there were no separate bathrooms. After a parent came to take a picture and posted it on social media, which created surprise because the bathroom had no door, with only a partition between the toilet bowls.
Mr. Siamrat Kunpradit, Director of the Lampang Educational Service Area Office 1, along with officials, initially inspected the school and found out that the bathrooms in the school have both bathrooms for older students and kindergarten students, which are separated. The male bathroom has a toilet without a door, and the female bathroom does not have a door. The toilets are located at the back of the school.
The school director explained that the bathroom is only for use by kindergarten 1, 2 and 3 students. Separate rooms for boys and girls are provided. Every time kindergarten students use the bathroom, their homeroom teacher will supervise their use. As for the bathrooms for older elementary students, they are normal bathrooms.
For the old-fashioned bathrooms that have doors that close, sometimes it is difficult for small children who come to use the bathroom to open the door. In addition, the nanny who brings the children to the bathroom must help open the door. And sometimes small children open the bathroom door themselves, causing the bathroom door to collapse and causing injury. In building such bathrooms, the school emphasizes the safety of the students as the main principle, especially small children in kindergarten. Some of them still cannot help themselves to use the bathroom.
