Bangkok: Comedian Ple Nakorn and his wife, June Kasama, recently reported a case of fraud at Khok Kram Police Station after their business, "Mother June's Pots," fell victim to a scam. The couple discovered that their products were being stolen and sold, causing significant financial loss.
According to Thai News Agency, the suspect, a delivery driver, was called in to provide an explanation. Initially, the driver claimed his innocence, suggesting the goods were stolen while he was parked. However, Ple presented evidence of a money transfer into the driver's account, leading to the driver's confession. He admitted to stealing chicken curry from the delivery truck, selling it, and keeping the proceeds. This was not his first offense, having committed the theft twice before due to financial struggles, but he denied any gambling issues.
The driver, aged 32, expressed remorse, apologizing to police and to Ple, even prostrating himself during an interview. Ple, surprised and saddened by the betrayal, emphasized the importance of trust, urging employees to consider their actions carefully. Despite the incident, Ple remains committed to treating employees like family but intends to let the law address the matter.
