Bangkok: Crowds of people gathered at Chulalongkorn Hospital to pay their respects as Princess Bajrakitiyabha's body was moved to the Grand Palace. Citizens, dressed in black and carrying portraits of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, gathered to receive the procession carrying her body from Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, to the Grand Palace. The atmosphere was one of profound sadness and gratitude for Her Royal Highness's compassion. Meanwhile, officials from various agencies mobilized to facilitate and maintain order along the route.
According to Thai News Agency, on June 13, 2026, the atmosphere around the Bhumibol Adulyadej Memorial Building at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, was filled with sorrow from late morning onwards. People from various areas gradually arrived to reserve spaces along the roads and around the hospital, awaiting the procession carrying the royal coffin of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavadi, Krom Luang Rajasarinisiripatchara Mahavajrarajathida, to be enshrined at the Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall in the Grand Palace, scheduled for 3:30 PM.
Most people were dressed in black, some holding pictures of Princess Bajrakitiyabha in mourning. Many families sat peacefully on mats at various locations to participate in the final farewell. Meanwhile, a large number of Thai and foreign media outlets were stationed there to closely report on the event.
Throughout the surrounding area, police officers, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration officials, Thai Red Cross Society staff, and other relevant agencies have been deployed to ensure security, manage traffic, and facilitate the large number of people who have come to pay their respects.
The Royal Household has arranged for the body to be transferred from Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, to the Grand Palace for royal funeral rites according to tradition, amidst the grief of Thai people nationwide, following the announcement of His Majesty's passing on June 11, 2026, at 7:48 PM, at the age of 47.
