Demolition Preparations Underway at Sam Sen Police Station Amidst Rain

Bangkok: Police from Sam Sen Police Station have begun the process of clearing motorcycles and cars from the premises in preparation for the partial demolition of the station. This action precedes the entry of construction company representatives who plan to carry out the demolition.

According to Thai News Agency, a meeting at 12:30 PM involving the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), and the construction contractor concluded with the decision to partially demolish the Sam Sen Police Station. Officers from the station, both in uniform and plainclothes, worked swiftly to remove vehicles from around the station and nearby residential flats, despite persistent rain. The area was subsequently cordoned off with warnings stating: "Controlled Area, Dangerous, No Entry or Passage."

As part of the preparations, the station's 2.30-meter-high wall was demolished, and the Pu In Shrine was relocated to a nearby site. Additionally, sandbags were strategically placed to form a ramp in the area.

The clearance operation successfully removed 26 cars, while around 90 motorcycles were initially left behind. Of these, only one motorcycle remains tethered to a chain, with officials contemplating whether to cut the chain to facilitate its removal.

Following the vehicle clearance, representatives from the construction company, Ch. Karnchang, arrived with workers to evaluate the site and strategize for the upcoming demolition of the police station.
