Bangkok:The Department of Provincial Administration is advancing the "District Chief-led Tourism Plus" program aimed at enhancing winter tourism through the development of tourism routes, promotion of local products, and stimulation of the economy.
According to Thai News Agency, the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration has instructed all 878 districts nationwide to implement the "District Chief's Tourism Plus" initiative. This initiative seeks to create winter tourism routes, emphasize local products, and stimulate the grassroots economy while ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
Mr. Narucha Khosasilvilai, Director-General of the Department, highlighted that the tourism promotion policy is driven by district chiefs under the concept of "District Chiefs Lead the Tourism." This approach aligns with the government's policy to promote tourism, boost both macro and local economies, generate income, and equitably distribute economic opportunities to communities, ultimately improving the quality of life for citizens.
The department has tasked all district chiefs with promoting the "District Chief's Tourism Plus" policy, which aims to foster winter tourism, generate income, and enhance public well-being through collaboration with various sectors. The initiative focuses on enhancing community tourism through three strategic approaches connecting tourism routes to highlight local identity, utilizing online media to reach modern tourists, and ensuring thorough preparation and safety measures to instill confidence among tourists.
The Director-General emphasized that the initiative is designed not only to promote tourist attractions but also to connect local resources and unique identities to create economic value while ensuring tourists' convenience and safety. District chiefs and local administration officials are pivotal in driving operations to align with the specific context of each area.
The Department of Provincial Administration invites tourists to explore Thailand's winter charm, discover new attractions, enjoy local cuisine, support community products, and learn about diverse lifestyles, thereby contributing to community income and grassroots economic growth.
