Bangkok: The director of educational testing at Srinakharinwirot University has confessed to handing over a flash drive to Mr. Win as part of an ongoing investigation into a corruption case. Police interrogated Ruangdet, the director, for over six hours, during which he disclosed that the delivery took place at Mr. Win's residence in Nonthaburi province. Despite this admission, Ruangdet denied all charges, asserting that his actions were guided by orders under the Terms of Reference (TOR) as an employee. Meanwhile, the former director-general of the National Statistical Office has deferred his testimony to August 6th.
According to Thai News Agency, recent developments in the corruption case surrounding the competitive examination for local government recruitment have come to light. Mr. Rueangdet Sirikit, Director of the Office of Educational and Psychological Testing at Srinakharinwirot University, appeared with five other individuals at the Crime Suppression Division around 7:00 AM today. These individuals, who reside in Nonthaburi province, were subjected to over six hours of questioning by investigators.
Throughout the interrogation, sources indicate that all five individuals cooperated, providing facts and details about the incident while maintaining their denial of all charges. Investigators documented each person's statement to integrate with other collected evidence.
Specifically, Mr. Rueangdet admitted to delivering the flash drive to Mr. Win, who was previously arrested. However, he maintained that his actions were directed by Mr. Theerut Supavibulphol, the former Director-General of the Department of Local Administration. Ruangdet claimed he was merely fulfilling his job responsibilities under the TOR and denied any direct involvement in the alleged misconduct.
Regarding his acquaintance with Mr. Win, Mr. Rueangdet explained that their connection stems from their mutual involvement in the education sector.
As the investigation continues, authorities are summoning additional individuals for further information. Mr. Theerut Supavibulphol has requested to postpone his meeting with investigators to August 6th. Other summoned individuals have also sought delays in their appointments, now set for August 10th. Investigators plan to gradually question these individuals to determine the next steps in legal proceedings.
