Dr. Vee Criticizes NHSO Over Misleading Communication on Children’s Vaccine Program

Bangkok: Dr. Veerapun Suvannamai, Vice Chairman of the Senate's Public Health Committee, has publicly criticized the National Health Security Office (NHSO) for allegedly misleading the public regarding a children's vaccine pilot program. Dr. Vee took to his Facebook page to address the NHSO board's recent resolution, suggesting it could lead to public misunderstandings by portraying the pilot initiative as a nationwide rollout.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Veerapun highlighted that the NHSO board's resolution on February 2nd does not imply a national vaccination effort. Instead, it pertains to a pilot program limited to specific areas. Dr. Veerapun cautioned that if the Minister signs off on this resolution, it would signify an acceptance of the pilot program as a national decision, which could result in public confusion over the scope of the vaccination efforts.

Dr. Veerapun further explained that if the Minister refrains from signing, it would be clear that the vaccination program has not received nationwide approval. He urged the Minister to amend the resolution to ensure that the vaccination program covers all children across the nation. Dr. Veerapun expressed concern that the current communication strategy by the NHSO might be a tactical approach to disseminate information, potentially misleading the public about the program's true nature.
