Kanchanaburi: The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) organized the "74th Birthday Anniversary: A Bond of Love from Mother to Child" event to celebrate His Majesty the King's birthday at Vajiralongkorn Dam in Kanchanaburi Province. The event featured a range of activities including contemporary Thai dance performances, a celebratory fireworks display, a drone light show with over 200 drones, stalls selling products from local communities around the dam, and performances by renowned artists.
According to Thai News Agency, Air Chief Marshal Chalit Phukphasuk, Privy Councillor, presided over the opening ceremony of the activities commemorating His Majesty the King's 74th birthday on July 28, 2026. The event, held from July 24-25, 2026, was also attended by Ms. Warittha Sanguansermsri, Governor of Kanchanaburi Province; Mr. Narind Paowanich, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT); along with executives, government officials, and local residents.
The celebratory activities were themed "74th Birthday Anniversary: A Bond of Love from Mother to Child," symbolized by the "Shuttle of Inheritance." This concept represents the threads of love, affection, and compassion passed down from mother to child. The event included contemporary Thai dance performances inspired by Khon, a traditional Thai masked dance-drama, depicting stories of love, care, and the transmission of royal aspirations from Her Majesty Queen Sirikit to His Majesty the King. A drone light show featured 200 drones forming a message of "The Bond of Love," connecting the monarchy and the Thai people. Additionally, awards were presented to ten outstanding mothers from families in Thong Pha Phum District, and stalls selling community products from around the Vajiralongkorn Dam area were available.
The exhibition organized by EGAT in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit at the Phlabphla Building, Vajiralongkorn Dam, showcased the Queen Mother's royal biography and activities. It highlighted her efforts to improve the quality of life for the underprivileged and rural communities, her commitment to forest conservation, and her influence on His Majesty the King and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavadi.
