Bang Bua Thong: A 68-year-old man tragically died after falling from the Horseshoe Bridge on Kanchanaphisek Road in Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province. His body struck the hood of a sedan, leading to his death.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at 9:30 p.m. on January 29, when Bang Bua Thong Police Station received a report regarding the accident. The man, identified as Mr. Booncherd, fell from the bridge and impacted a sedan on the express lane of Kanchanaphisek Road, Tambon Bang Bua Thong. Police officials, along with doctors from the Institute of Forensic Medicine and officers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, promptly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation.

The accident site was located on a three-lane road before the bridge over Khlong Phra Phimon. Mr. Booncherd’s body was found deceased at the scene. Approximately 500 meters away, a white Honda City sedan was discovered with a dented hood and blood stains on the rear window. It is believed that the driver, Mr. Somchai, was in shock and drove to the bridge exit to await police assistance.

Ms. Boontip, the deceased’s 70-year-old sister, mentioned that Mr. Booncherd worked at a gold roll factory in Soi Kantana. On the day of the incident, he did not attend work and was later found to have died in the accident. She was unsure how he accessed the bridge, as he typically traveled on foot. It is suspected that he might have fainted due to his diabetes condition.

Mr. Somchai, the driver of the sedan, recounted that he was driving in the middle lane, returning from picking up his daughter from work near Khlong Bang Phai. As he approached the scene, he heard a loud noise on the car’s hood, initially mistaking it for a rock. Shocked by the realization that it was a person, he managed to steer the car to the roadside, concerned about potential collisions with vehicles behind him on the high-speed express lane.
