Bangkok:A tree and a power pole fell on a pickup truck in Soi Ladprao 94, injuring two individuals. The incident, which occurred during a period of heavy rain and strong winds, led to a temporary power outage as the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) works to restore services by midnight.
According to Thai News Agency, the mishap was reported at 2:57 PM in an area under the jurisdiction of the Wang Thonglang District Office and Wang Thonglang Police Station. Responding teams found a gray Toyota pickup truck with a fallen pole wedged between its dashboard and car body. The victims, identified as Mr. Sittichai, 35, and Ms. Suchada, 53, sustained minor injuries and were treated at Camillian Hospital before being released.
Mr. Phitakphong Kamsiri from the Ramkhamhaeng Disaster Relief Unit stated that they received the initial report from the Phra Ram radio center. Volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation transported the injured to the hospital. The incident involved the collapse of four to five power poles, resulting in a power outage in the vicinity.
Electricity officials have been on-site, cutting off power from the Isaraphon intersection to Soi Ladprao 94. They are actively working on removing fallen trees and replacing the damaged power poles to ensure normal service is restored. The MEA anticipates completing the restoration by midnight.
