Fast Track Wine Tax System Development to Complete by May 2026

Bangkok: The Fast Track system for paying wine tax on orders exceeding 1 liter is not yet available for download. Deputy Government Spokesperson, Airin, announced that the system, designed to streamline the tax payment process for wine imports, is anticipated to be fully operational by early May 2026. She cautioned the public against downloading the system from unofficial sources.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Airin Phanrit, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, detailed that the Excise Department is developing this system to assist passengers importing wine in amounts exceeding 1 liter but not exceeding 10 liters, which requires excise tax payment but not an import license. This initiative aims to expedite and enhance the transparency and efficiency of tax transactions. Initially, the system will be piloted at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports, with plans to extend its reach to Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, and Phuket airports. Full deployment is expected by May 2026.

In the interim, passengers can still bring alcoholic beverages into the Kingdom by submitting a paper-based import declaration form at the "goods to declare" counters at international airport customs checkpoints. This provisional method allows passengers to promptly pay the necessary excise tax.

Ms. Airin also emphasized the importance of vigilance against fraudulent websites or applications promoting unauthorized downloads of the Fast Track system. She clarified that the system remains under development and is not yet available for public download or use. An official announcement will be made once the system is finalized and ready for public launch.
