Bangkok: The Director of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department in Bangkok has announced that the fire at a furniture factory in the Lat Krabang area is almost under control.
According to Thai News Agency, Suriyachai Rawiwan, the department's director, shared updates on the situation at the factory located in Soi Chalong Krung 55. The fire, which has been raging for over 24 hours, has seen significant progress toward containment. Officials have been actively using water trucks to douse the flames and prevent further spread.
The situation improved considerably when rain in the afternoon aided efforts to extinguish the fire. Currently, only minor isolated fires remain, including those in the basement area. Moreover, a backhoe was deployed to excavate and cut the basement walls on both sides. This strategic move allowed better air circulation and enabled more effective water spraying at the fire's base.
