Fire Breaks Out at Motorcycle Plastic Assembly Company, 2 Injured

Bangkok: A fire broke out at a motorcycle plastic assembly shop in the Bang Khun Thian area, damaging three shop houses and injuring two workers. This afternoon, police were notified of a factory fire in Soi Thian Talay 26, Intersection 1, Bang Khun Thian-Chai Thale Road, Bang Khun Thian District, Bangkok. Officers from the Bang Khun Thian Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene, a three-story commercial building. Fire was found burning on the second and third floors of the commercial building before spreading and damaging three adjacent commercial units.

According to Thai News Agency, the building where the fire started was a motorcycle plastic assembly shop. The fire was on the second floor, where bubble wrap for parcels was stored. Initial reports indicate that a Myanmar man was injured after jumping from the third floor. Another man, whose nationality is still unknown, suffered burns all over his body. Officers sent him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

During the firefighting, officers were notified that the building was receiving a large amount of water that was being sprayed to control the fire and were afraid that it would collapse. Therefore, the water usage was temporarily stopped in order to plan a new fire control plan. There were also a large amount of chemicals and plastics remaining inside the building.

Mr. Paisarn, 43, the owner of the building where the fire occurred, is concerned whether the missing person is still in the building or not, because the injured person reported that during the fire, he escaped to the roof. Although the roof can be used to go to another building, he has not been able to contact them yet. As for the cause of the fire, it is still not clear what caused it.

After planning a new fire control plan due to fears that the building would collapse, officers sprayed water to control the fire and put it out, taking a total of more than 3 hours. As for one person trapped on the rooftop, officers were able to help him down safely.
