Prachinburi:Floodwaters in Prachinburi are receding slowly, raising fears they may persist until November. The situation is particularly concerning in Ban Sang district, where water levels are still high and decreasing at a rate of only 3 centimeters per day. Residents are urging the government for urgent assistance, fearing the situation could extend into November.
According to Thai News Agency, the flood situation in Ban Sang district remains critical, with residents relying primarily on boats for transportation. Concerns are growing that the prolonged flooding will cause significant hardship for villagers. Calls have been made for government agencies to expedite aid, and there are requests for the new district chief of Ban Sang to visit the area personally to address the issues and ensure comprehensive support.
Despite the challenges, some villagers have managed to find an opportunity amid the crisis by fishing. They caught a giant Mekong catfish weighing over 60 kilograms, which was sold to middlemen at 35 baht per kilogram, providing some financial relief.
