Nakhon Ratchasima: Panic ensued when a German man, reportedly hallucinating from marijuana, attacked a dentist at a clinic. The Nakhon Ratchasima Dentists Association has urged the police to arrest the individual and ensure justice is served, as he poses a threat to society and has instilled fear among dental professionals and staff. The man’s wife disclosed that he suffers from mental illness and uses marijuana to manage his symptoms.

According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage from a dental clinic located in a well-known shopping mall in central Nakhon Ratchasima showed the foreign man utilizing the services on March 13 at 5:35 p.m. His dissatisfaction with the dentist led to a commotion, prompting him to storm into the dentist’s private room adjacent to the dental lab. His aggressive behavior and verbal abuse caused the female dentist to flee in fear.

This incident was not isolated. On the evening of November 30, prior, the man had visited another dental clinic on Mittraphap Road, Cho Ho Subdistrict, where he exhibited similar behavior. He reportedly damaged property, assaulted a female dentist by biting her lip, and injured himself in the process. The trauma from this incident has left the dentist unable to return to work.

Following these events, Dentist Wivat Chatwongwan, representing the Nakhon Ratchasima Dental Association, alongside victims from various clinics, approached the Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station to file a complaint against the 41-year-old German man. They also sought updates on a previous case from November 2014. It was revealed that the perpetrator lives in Nakhon Ratchasima Province with his Thai wife.

The man’s wife explained that he had received psychiatric treatment in Germany before relocating to Thailand after losing his job. He has since refused conventional treatment, opting for marijuana to manage his condition. It is suspected that excessive marijuana use may have triggered the violent episodes at dental clinics, where he assaulted a dentist and caused significant damage.

Despite complaints filed by two dental clinics in November 2014, the case has seen little progress, allowing the man to continue his disruptive behavior. He has also sent threatening messages via Facebook, further intimidating the local dental community. The recent attack in a shopping mall clinic has heightened fears across the city. Consequently, the association has issued a warning to dental clinics in Nakhon Ratchasima and called for immediate action by authorities to prevent potential future incidents.
