Surat thani: Authorities are urgently searching for Kevin DiMino, a Frenchman, following a deportation order. Immigration officers in Surat Thani have intensified efforts to locate DiMino, who has not been found since the order was issued. He was last seen driving a car into his zoo, Samui Exotic Park, before disappearing.
According to Thai News Agency, the deportation order was signed by the Prime Minister, and officials have been unable to formally inform DiMino of the order. The Samui Exotic Park Zoo, owned by DiMino, remains closed. News reports stated that he was spotted at 1:00 PM yesterday in front of the zoo, but has not been seen since. Immigration officials are prepared to detain him under Section 6 of the Deportation Act and hold him at Bo Phut Police Station if found. DiMino has the right to appeal the order within 7 days of notification.
Yakov Ohayon, the Israeli national involved in the conflict with DiMino, is in custody at Koh Samui Police Station. He is awaiting coordination for bail and is preparing to appeal the deportation order within the legal timeframe.
The Ministry of Interior has detailed the reasons for DiMino's deportation, which include assaulting a Turkish citizen and posting racist remarks. DiMino was charged with threatening and verbally abusing individuals at a local language school, assaulting a Turkish national, and inciting racial and religious divisions through social media. His actions were deemed a violation of public order and a threat to the country's relations with other nations, prompting the deportation order. The Ministry emphasized that the decision was based on specific offenses and was not discriminatory.
