Nakhon ratchasima: Police in Nakhon Ratchasima have arrested "Gino," the leader of the 69 gang, for shooting and killing the leader of a rival gang. He was subsequently taken to the scene to reenact the crime as part of his confession.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Apiwat, or "Gino," 18, the leader of the 69 gang and a suspect wanted on an arrest warrant for murder, was taken by police from Nakhon Ratchasima City Police Station to reenact the crime at Thung Thale, Soi Thao Sura 15, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The reenactment took place under tight security. He is accused of shooting and killing Mr. Bas, 17, the leader of the 67 gang.
Gino appeared remorseful, stating that he initially didn't intend to cause the incident, only wanting to teach the deceased a lesson by firing a warning shot because the deceased had a problem with younger students. He insisted he intended to fire at the ground, but the gun recoiled, causing the bullet to hit the deceased in the back.
This case occurred in the early hours of July 25th. Two groups of teenagers arranged to confront each other in a field area after live-streaming challenges to one another. The perpetrators then chased the victim's group in a car and motorcycles, and opened fire on 17-year-old Bas, the leader of the 67 gang, killing him at the scene.
Following the incident, investigators gathered evidence and conducted searches at several locations, seizing firearms and the vehicle used in the crime. They eventually apprehended Mr. Apiwat, or Gino, while he was hiding at a residence in Dan Kwean Subdistrict, Chok Chai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Initially, Gino was charged with "intentional homicide," "possession of firearms and ammunition without a permit," "carrying a firearm in a city, village, or public place without a permit and without reasonable cause and urgent necessity," and "discharging a firearm using explosives without justification in a city, village, or populated area."
Pol. Maj. Gen. Narongsak Phromtha, Commander of the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Police, revealed that the investigative team has arrested Gino along with two other accomplices, totaling three people. The investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from conflict and revenge between two groups of teenagers. Currently, investigators are gathering evidence to expand the investigation and file additional charges against those involved, in order to prevent similar incidents from recurring. He also warned teenagers to respect the law and urged parents to supervise their children.
