Government Expands ‘Half-Half Plus’ Scheme to Support Small Service Businesses Nationwide

Bangkok: The government has announced the inclusion of massage parlors and small service establishments in the nationwide "Half-Half Plus" scheme, a move aimed at supporting the grassroots economy and ensuring access to rights for small businesses.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwattana, Deputy Government Spokesperson, stated that starting from October 29, 2025, citizens will be able to make more comprehensive use of their rights under the "Half-Half Plus" program. The government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, has widened the scope of eligibility to incorporate small service businesses that are part of the state tax system. This expansion ensures that small entrepreneurs in communities can genuinely benefit from the measure.

The "Half-Half Plus" program, previously limited to restaurants and shops, now allows people to use this co-payment option at participating Thai massage parlors, barbershops, beauty salons, laundromats, car washes, appliance repair shops, and other daily service providers. Payments can be made conveniently and securely via the G-Wallet app, similar to regular stores.

The deputy government spokesperson highlighted that this measure is part of the government's strategy to boost the grassroots economy and generate income for small businesses, which play a crucial role in the community economy. By expanding eligibility for participating service businesses, citizens can truly utilize their rights in their daily lives, while small entrepreneurs see increased income and continued local economic circulation.
