“Half-Half Plus” System Restored After Morning Outage

Bangkok: The “Half-Half Plus” program, a popular initiative by the Ministry of Finance, experienced a significant system outage this morning, affecting numerous users across the country. The system has since been restored and is now functioning normally, with Krungthai Bank tasked with ensuring the stability of the service.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Winij Wisetsuvarnabhumi, Director-General of the Fiscal Policy Office and spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, explained that the outage in the “Half-Half Plus” program was primarily due to the high volume of users accessing the system simultaneously. The holiday led to many residents nationwide exercising their right to scan and pay for goods in the morning, which caused delays and disruptions in the system’s scanning and payment processes.

Krungthai Bank, which manages the associated “Paotang” app, has successfully rectified the issues, allowing all markets to resume normal operations. The Ministry of Finance has directed Krungthai Bank to maintain vigilant monitoring of the system to prevent any future occurrences of such outages.
