Hillary Clinton Testifies Before House Committee About Epstein Connection

Chappaqua: Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified before a House committee on Thursday, stating that she could not recall ever meeting the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and that she had no information to provide further details about the individual's criminal activities.

According to Thai News Agency, in a statement released during a closed-door testimony before the House Oversight and Reform Committee in Chappaqua, New York, Hillary Clinton stated that she never met Epstein, never traveled on his private jet, and never visited his island, residence, or office. Following a testimony lasting over seven hours, Clinton told reporters she was asked the same questions repeatedly throughout the day. However, she did offer some suggestions for the investigation, but did not disclose details of those suggestions.

In pre-prepared testimony, Clinton, the former Democratic presidential nominee in 2016, also accused the Republican-led committee of trying to divert attention from the relationship between President Donald Trump and Epstein, who died by suicide in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on a federal sex trafficking case. She also noted that the Trump administration had significantly reduced the role of State Department agencies focused on combating international sex trafficking.

Representative James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky and chairman of the committee, gave an interview following Hillary Clinton's testimony, dismissing the idea of inviting Trump to testify before the committee. He stated that Trump had already answered a vast number of questions regarding Epstein and had been extremely transparent in disclosing the documents.

Hillary Clinton and her husband, the Democratic former President Bill Clinton, initially refused to testify before the committee but later agreed to do so when Congress prepared to prosecute them for contempt of Congress. Clinton is scheduled to be questioned by the committee on Friday.
