Nakhon Phanom: There are clues about the perpetrator who shot and seriously injured the chairman of the Phon Jan Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Nakhon Phanom Province. However, information has been provided, confirming that the gunman is Mr. Yut, an acquaintance. The police are preparing to issue an arrest warrant.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident involved Mr. Winai, aged 56, the president of the Phon Jan Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Phon Sawan District, Nakhon Phanom Province, who was shot in front of his house by a gunman early yesterday morning before the shooter drove away. Last night, Mrs. Sai, the wife of Mr. Winai, shared that her husband was on the phone with her when he was shot. Despite his serious injuries, Mr. Winai was conscious and identified Mr. Yut as the shooter, noting that Mr. Yut had parked in front of their house.
Mrs. Sai expressed her concerns regarding her husband’s injuries and the safety of her family. She is uncertain about Mr. Yut’s motives and
is anxious about the possibility of further incidents. She hopes for the police to apprehend Mr. Yut swiftly. Mr. Chanchai, Mr. Winai’s son, provided additional details, stating that his father was shot with an AK47 from a close range and required immediate surgery due to severe injuries.
Pol. Col. Kurupong Kaewsa-ard, Superintendent of Phon Sawan Police Station, indicated that CCTV footage has identified the perpetrator, Mr. Yuthana, aged 49, who used a white Honda City to escape. The motive for the shooting remains unclear, but Mr. Yuthana’s unruly nature is noted. Investigators are gathering evidence to request an arrest warrant for Mr. Yuthana, who has a history of drug involvement and was released from prison 4-5 years ago.
Ms. Da, the village head of Village No. 7, Ban Tai, acknowledged Mr. Yuthana’s drug-related past but stated that he has no history of violence in the village. She suggested the possibility of hallucinations as a cause for his actions, given the lack of prior conflicts between Mr. Yu
thana and Mr. Winai.
