Bangkok: 16 years of non-stop work! Ja Nongphanee announces she will be taking a 2-month break from singing to dedicate time to caring for her father. It has been over a month and a half since Mr. Pradit Mahathai, 68, the father of famous Luk Thung singer Ja Nongphanee, was admitted to the hospital after being involved in a motorcycle accident on January 28, 2026. Ja has been continuously updating her father's condition and has been making merit and praying for his speedy recovery.
According to Thai News Agency, Ja recently went live to chat with her fans, revealing that for the first time, her band will be taking a two-month break in September and October. During this period, they will not be accepting any gigs as Ja dedicates her time to her father's recovery. "This year will be the first year that Jaa's band will be taking a two-month break," she shared, emphasizing the need to care for her father during his recovery. She noted that despite her commitment to her team and her performances, her father's condition has made it difficult for her to continue without a break.
Ja expressed her emotional struggle, having been the "backbone" of her team for 16 years without a break. The singer admitted that she could financially afford to care for her father without working but is experiencing panic attacks and stress from the situation. This led to her decision to prioritize her family, her health, and her personal life, putting her singing career on hold for the first time.
She shared her plans to take her father traveling and engaging in religious activities if his health improves. However, if he remains bedridden, Ja plans to spend her time by his side. The break is also a response to the stresses of her career and the pressures she faces, acknowledging the need to take a step back from her relentless work schedule.
Ja candidly discussed the stress of performing for 16 consecutive years and the societal pressures that come with it. She emphasized the importance of taking care of herself, recognizing that even dedicated professionals need time to rest and rejuvenate. This break marks a significant shift in her career, highlighting the personal sacrifices she has made and her dedication to her family during this challenging time.
