Bangkok:Kanita Sasawatayu has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTT EP), with a clear focus on ensuring energy security while driving the company's international growth.
According to Thai News Agency, upon taking office on October 1, 2026, Ms. Sasawatayu emphasized her commitment to sustaining petroleum production capabilities to meet national energy demands and support national development. Her strategic vision includes expanding into key overseas markets to secure long-term growth for PTT EP.
The company is set to operate under a sustainability framework, aiming to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This involves enhancing organizational capabilities, integrating digital technologies and AI, and fostering leadership development. Ms. Sasawatayu highlighted the importance of applying these technologies to improve competitiveness and manage costs effectively.
With over 30 years of experience in the petroleum sector, Ms. Sasawatayu has been instrumental in advancing PTT EP's growth and enhancing national energy security. Her efforts include developing major natural gas fields in the Gulf of Thailand, the Thai-Malaysian Joint Development Area, and Myanmar, as well as promoting carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology. She played a pivotal role in securing the final investment decision for Thailand's first CCS project at the Arthit field.
