Karn and Pammy to Sue Online Trolls for Insulting Parents and Demand Million Baht Compensation

Bangkok: Karn Toson and Pammy Sutthida are preparing to take legal action against ten online trolls for insulting their parents, seeking nearly a million baht in damages.

According to Thai News Agency, a crackdown on online trolls has commenced, with summonses issued to the first ten individuals who have frequently targeted the couple on online platforms. This legal action follows a recent incident involving country singer Karn Toson and his girlfriend, Pammy Sutthida, an actress from the “Undertaker” films, who attended the gala for “Undertaker 2.” The couple expressed their frustration over abusive and vulgar comments directed at them, particularly those involving their parents.

Karn and Pammy revealed that their decision to sue originated from an apology they received from one of the trolls. Initially hesitant to pursue legal action, they were advised by a lawyer that they could potentially receive at least 800,000 baht per person in damages. The couple emphasized the need to demonstrate the value of their dignity and to discourage excessive insults followed by insincere apologies.

Pammy explained that despite messages they received suggesting that they wouldn’t dare to sue, they were determined to proceed. She highlighted that monetary compensation was necessary due to the continued harassment, which impacted their personal and professional lives. Karn noted that the insults were not just verbal but also affected their work, with trolls following them and hurling insults during TV appearances.

The couple plans to donate the compensation they receive to charitable causes, including foundations for the visually impaired, orphanages, and temples in need. They intend to use the funds to support these organizations, aligning with their ongoing charitable activities.
