Kla Tham Party Rejects Participation in No-Confidence Debate Citing Political Motives

Chachoengsao:"Kla Tham," a political activist group, has announced its decision not to participate in the upcoming no-confidence debate, arguing that the opposition's motion is driven by political motives rather than an assessment of governmental efficiency.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atthakorn Sirilatthayakon, an MP for Chachoengsao and spokesperson for the Kla Tham Party, explained that the party had not been approached by the leading opposition party to join in considering or signing the no-confidence motion. Upon reviewing the motion, the Kla Tham Party determined that the primary accusations against the Prime Minister and several ministers were not related to the country's administration.

Mr. Atthakorn questioned whether the no-confidence motion should be used as a means to scrutinize the government's performance or if it is merely a platform for political maneuvering. He pointed out that the motion focuses more on alleged collusion among senators than on evaluating the government's administrative efficiency and addressing the people's hardships.

He also noted that the motion failed to include certain ministers who should be scrutinized for their handling of pressing issues, such as water management and flooding, which have direct impacts on the public. Meanwhile, some ministers with unclear allegations have been named. Mr. Atthakorn emphasized that the debate should center on national administration and issues causing public hardship, rather than expanding political issues, as it ultimately will not resolve the people's problems or benefit the public.
