Auckland: Luxon's Prime Minister, accompanied by Thai Prime Minister Anutin, visited NZAero to strengthen the Thai-New Zealand aviation relationship. According to Thai News Agency, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon personally escorted Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on a tour of an NZAero aircraft at Ardmore Airport. Mr. Stephen Burrow, CEO of NZAero, welcomed the Prime Minister and briefed him on the company's operations. The tour included a close-up demonstration of the CT-4 light aircraft, a model with historical significance for Thailand.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of this visit in reflecting the longstanding ties between Thailand and New Zealand. The CT-4 aircraft has been integral in various Thai operations, including royal rainmaking missions and flight training for Thai royalty. Prime Minister Anutin highlighted his personal connection with the aircraft, having used it for flight training, and commended its performance and safety standards.
The visit, marked by mutual respect and a shared vision for future cooperation, concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Top Flying Limited and NZAero. This agreement aims to enhance collaboration in the aviation industry, focusing on human resource development and creating new opportunities for both nations.
'This visit reflects the government's commitment to seeking knowledge and opportunities through international cooperation, to be further developed for the benefit of Thai people. This includes developing skills, creating opportunities in the aviation industry, and ultimately elevating Thailand's aviation industry to be more competitive and grow in the future,' Ms. Rachada stated.
