Nong prue: A man was left bewildered after an unknown assailant smashed the door lock of his hotel room with a brick, broke in, and struck him on the head, leaving him bleeding profusely, before fleeing. He insists he had never met the person before. Around 3 AM this morning, police from Nong Prue Police Station, along with rescue workers, responded to a report of an assault resulting in injuries at a dormitory in Soi Maab Song-Nong Yai, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. They found Mr. Weerasak, 49 years old, with blood covering his head. They immediately provided first aid before transporting him to the hospital for treatment.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Weerasak, the injured party, recounted that at the time of the incident, he was in his room video calling his girlfriend when the assailant suddenly used a concrete block to smash the door lock before barging in and using the same block to strike him on the head. After the attack, the assailant fled. He confirmed that he had never met the assailant before, but that the assailant previously had a girlfriend who lived in the same dormitory and had been arrested last month for assaulting her. Mr. Weerasak stated that he was not present during that incident and therefore did not understand why the assailant would attack him.
Witnesses said the perpetrator arrived on a bicycle, abandoned it after the incident, and fled before police arrived. They said they didn't understand why he would attack the victim, only hearing a loud noise and running out to see the injured person.
Initially, police at Nong Prue Police Station gathered evidence and checked CCTV footage in nearby areas and along the escape route used by the suspect in order to track him down and prosecute him.
