Sa kaeo: Martial prosecutors have assumed control over the area of Ban Nong Chan following disturbances caused by Cambodian nationals. They have demarcated a section of Sri Phen Road as a peacekeeping zone, imposing strict regulations against carrying weapons and using loudspeakers without permission.
According to Thai News Agency, the Eastern Task Force has announced the establishment of peace and order zones in Sa Kaeo Province, which encompasses seven districts under martial law: Ta Phraya, Khok Sung, Aranyaprathet, Khlong Hat, Watthana Nakhon, Wang Sombun, and Wang Nam Yen. The task force took these measures after reports surfaced of Cambodian citizens entering Thailand to incite unrest in Ban Nong Chan, located in the Non Mak Mun Subdistrict of the Khok Sung District.
The situation has necessitated the involvement of military, police, civilian forces, and all Thai citizens to safeguard the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The measures aim to protect the lives and property of Thai citizens by designating specific peacekeeping zones and implementing corresponding regulations.
Under the authority granted by Section 11 of the Martial Law Act B.E. 2457, specific peacekeeping areas and regulations have been established. Ban Nong Chan in the Non Mak Mun Subdistrict is designated as a peacekeeping area, while Sri Phen Road within the same vicinity is marked as a peacekeeping line.
The regulations include prohibitions on carrying weapons, blocking routes, photographing military operations, engaging in fights, consuming alcohol, and using loudspeakers without official permission. These measures are intended to maintain order and ensure the safety of the region amidst the ongoing tensions.
