Meteorology Department Reports Cold Weather Conditions in Upper Thailand

General

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has announced that the upper part of Thailand will continue to experience cool to cold weather conditions. Residents in these regions are advised to take precautions to protect their health from the cold temperatures. Meanwhile, Bangkok and its surrounding areas will have cooler weather in the morning.

According to Thai News Agency, the weather for the next 24 hours is expected to be influenced by a high-pressure area or a strong cold air mass covering the upper part of Thailand, which is beginning to weaken. Additionally, upper-level westerly winds are affecting the region. These conditions will cause the upper part of Thailand to remain cool to cold. Residents are advised to take health precautions due to the cold weather and to be alert to potential fire hazards caused by the dry conditions.

The northeast monsoon, which is blowing over the Gulf of Thailand and the South, has weakened, resulting in calmer waves in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. The lower Gulf of Thailand is expected to have waves about 2 meters high, with higher waves in areas experiencing thunderstorms. The upper Gulf of Thailand will see waves between 1 to 2 meters high, with increased heights in storm-prone areas. Residents of the eastern southern region should remain cautious of waves impacting the shore. Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are advised to navigate with care and avoid areas experiencing thunderstorms.

The current weather conditions are also impacting dust accumulation in the upper part of Thailand. The level of dust and smog accumulation is considered to be between good to moderate, as the moderate winds in the area are facilitating fairly good air ventilation.

In Bangkok and its vicinity, the morning is expected to be cool, with minimum temperatures ranging from 18 to 21 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures between 30 to 31 degrees Celsius.
