Ministry of Industry Collaborates with Delta Electronics on Angel Fund Initiative

Bangkok: The Ministry of Industry, through the Department of Industrial Promotion (DIPROM), has partnered with Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited to advance the DIPROM-DELTA Angel Fund project. This initiative aims to bolster Thai startups by facilitating their journey from conceptualization to commercialization through financial support, innovation testing in real markets, and establishing connections with investor networks.

According to Thai News Agency, a press conference was hosted at Meeting Room 2, 6th floor, Department of Industrial Promotion Building, Rama VI Road, Ratchathewi District. The event was presided over by Petty Officer 1st Class Yotsingh Liamlert, Deputy Minister of Industry. He was joined by Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Mr. Peerawat Somwong, Secretary to the Deputy Minister, Ms. Natthiya Netyasupa, Director-General of the Department of Industrial Promotion, and Mr. Victor Cheng, CEO of Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited.

Yotsingh Liamlert emphasized that while Thailand has always had the potential, it lacked a robust support system. The Ministry of Industry, collaborating with private entities like Delta, is committed to helping Thai startups achieve commercial success. This partnership exemplifies the potential of public and private sectors working in unison.

The DIPROM-DELTA Angel Fund project, active for a decade, aims to uplift Thai entrepreneurs through three main strategies. These include expanding market reach via content creators, proving innovation through public-private networks to boost investor confidence, and connecting startups with diverse capital sources. The project envisions participation from over 50 teams in 2025, covering 12 future industry sectors. Delta will offer 31 grants totaling 5 million baht to assist teams in implementing their projects in real-world markets.

Over the past decade, the collaboration between DIPROM and Delta has supported 237 Thai startups, distributing over 38 million baht. This partnership underscores the importance of public and private sector roles in fostering a tangible innovation ecosystem that serves as a platform for real business ventures.

Victor Zheng highlighted Delta’s dedication to sharing its knowledge, network, and technology infrastructure, helping startups enhance their products, expand their businesses, and connect with investors more rapidly.
