Dubai: The National Police Chief will send police officers to compete in the UAE Swat Challenge 2025 from February 1-5. The event will see participation from special operations teams representing the Royal Thai Police in this prestigious international competition.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, has confirmed the participation of the Thai police special tactical operations team in the UAE Swat Challenge. The Thai team has a history of strong performances in this competition, having secured 5th place in 2024 among teams from numerous countries.
The 2025 competition will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and will feature 120 teams from 50 countries, including the United States, China, Russia, and South Korea. This year, the Royal Thai Police is fielding three teams: two male teams and one female team. These teams have undergone extensive training at Naresuan Camp, Air Support Division, and Border Patrol Police Headquarters in Phetchaburi Province.
The competition will adhere to FBI standards, challenging teams across five stages: Hostage Rescue, Assault Event, Officer Rescue, Tower Assault, and Obstacle Course. Participants will demonstrate skills in various tactical disciplines, including shooting and rappelling, aiming to complete tasks swiftly without penalties.
The Thai police teams, comprising Naresuan 261, Arintharat 26, and special divisions from the Central Investigation Bureau, will depart for Dubai on January 28, 2025. They will engage in preparatory activities and practice before the competition begins. This event promotes the exchange of knowledge, fostering international cooperation among police forces.
