Bangkok: 'Pharadon' sues 'Yingcheep' over Senate collusion allegations, refuting 'Abhisit's' claim that the lawsuit is a 'slapping to silence him,' arguing that the party has suffered damage. Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and MP for Ang Thong Province from the Bhumjaithai Party, is moving forward with legal action against Mr. Yingcheep Atchanon, Director of the Internet for People's Law Project (iLaw). He confirmed the decision to proceed with the lawsuit, citing the need to protect the party from damages he believes have been inflicted.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Paradorn addressed the media at Government House, stating that the evidence presented by Mr. Yingcheep is outdated. He also dismissed claims made by Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, who suggested that the lawsuit might be a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation (SLAPP) aimed at silencing dissent. Mr. Paradorn clarified that the legal action is not a SLAPP lawsuit but is necessary to address the harm done to the party.
Mr. Paradorn further mentioned that Mr. Yingcheep's involvement in a seminar with the opposition whip, which focused on the "2nd Anniversary of the Senate Election - In-depth Analysis of Evidence in the Senate Collusion Case (Part 2)," revolved around old issues. However, he did not provide details on where the lawsuit would be filed, stating that an announcement would be made later.
When questioned about the potential for additional legal actions against other individuals, Mr. Paradorn indicated that no decisions have been made regarding further steps. The current focus remains on addressing the allegations and the perceived damage to the Bhumjaithai Party.
