Pheu Thai’s Final Campaign Day Sees Warm Welcome in Samut Prakan

Bangkok: Pheu Thai party members used a parade float for their final day of campaigning, with villagers waving to welcome Yotchanan. The Pheu Thai party held its final day of campaigning in Samut Prakan and inner Bangkok. Residents waved to welcome Yotchanan, while Gen Z members took photos with him. A vendor complimented his good looks and asked to shake his hand.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Yotsanu Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, and Mr. Julaphan Amornvivat, also a prime ministerial candidate and party leader, along with Mr. Worachai Hema, a campaign assistant for the Pheu Thai Party, and parliamentary candidates for Samut Prakan, rode in a campaign parade in Samut Prakan province. Today marks the final day of the campaign before the February 8, 2026 election. The parade started at the Samut Prakan City View Tower, where Mr. Yotsanu delivered speeches from the vehicle as it toured the city. People waved along the way. A group of Gen Z teenagers on motorcycles even surrounded Mr. Yotsanu's parade vehicle to take photos and wave. After disembarking from the vehicle, Mr. Yotsanu walked through a market where a female vendor complimented him, saying, "You're so handsome! Can I shake your hand?"

The procession then arrived at the Samut Prakan City Pillar Shrine, where Mr. Yotsanan and party leaders, along with candidates for Samut Prakan province, paid respects to the sacred deities. A large crowd had gathered to welcome them, offering flowers, garlands, tie-dyed fabrics, Bang Bo salted fish, Phra Samut Chedi dried shrimp, and Khanom Chak (coconut candy), all famous local dishes of Samut Prakan. They then boarded buses to travel to Wat Bang Phli Yai to pay homage to Luang Pho To (a revered Buddha image).

This afternoon (February 7), Mr. Yotsanan will lead a campaign parade through inner Bangkok, starting from Hua Lamphong Railway Station to Banthat Thong, Yom Ratch, passing the Government House, Ratchadamnoen Road, Democracy Monument, and concluding with a campaign parade in the Khan Na Yao district, starting at Soi Seri Thai 13, to support Mr. Polphum Wipattiphumiphet, the candidate for Member of Parliament in Bangkok Constituency 15, before the campaign period ends this evening (February 7) at 6:00 PM.
