Bangkok: ‘Pol. Lt. Gen. Thachatchai’ discussed dealing with call center gangs moving their base from Myanmar to Cambodia, ordering the interception of the movement of equipment and call center gang networks.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Thatchai Pitaneelabut, Inspector-General of the Royal Thai Police, as the Director of the Anti-Human Trafficking Center of the Royal Thai Police and the Director of the Center for the Suppression of Technology Crimes of the Royal Thai Police, revealed that from the continuous suppression of call center gangs and human trafficking in Myawaddy, Myanmar and the increasing intensity of the suppression of the ‘Bombing the Bandit Bridge’ measure to crack down on the illegal transmission of mobile phone signals and internet, SIM cards, cables, and poles to cut off the circuit of the call center gang and the cutting off of electricity, it is expected that the call center gang from Myawaddy, Myanmar may move their base of operations to the border of Cambodia. Therefore, there must be an integrated response plan from all relevant agencies to prevent and suppress such gangs from being able to set up a base of operations to deceive people of all nationalities.
In this regard, orders have been given to prepare to intercept the movement of equipment and the network of call center gangs that will move their base from the border of Myanmar to Cambodia, including intercepting and inspecting foreigners who will travel in and out of Cambodia, to have their personal history and travel history checked, and to have information collected by the security sector to coordinate with the Immigration Police and Tourist Police to check various criminal records.
Confirming that we will accelerate the suppression with full force. There will be another assessment of the situation within 3 months. It is expected that the severity of the crime will decrease.
