Bangkok: A house in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, suspected of being a drug den, was found by police to be filled with garbage and various discarded items. The owner of the house, known as Mr. Sabai or Jok, admitted to drug use during the police investigation.
According to Thai News Agency, officers from the Border Patrol Police Unit 43, under the command of Chang Suek Song Le, conducted a raid on a house in Ban Noen Khum Thong, Moo 3, Khuan Lang Subdistrict. The investigation revealed that the house was being used for drug activities, and the residents' unusual behavior had alarmed the local community. The clutter in the house included clothes, statues of mythical creatures, a shrine, and various other items, resembling a spiritual sanctuary.
Mr. Sabai, 36, appeared disoriented when questioned and claimed that the accumulation of items in his room was due to personal preference. He admitted to collecting anything he found discarded and acknowledged recent use of crystal meth. A subsequent urine test at Hat Yai Hospital confirmed his drug use.
Further investigation into Mr. Sabai's background showed a criminal record with four prior arrests, including two related to drug use, one for theft, and another for violating a curfew during his probation. He was taken to Hat Yai Police Station to face charges for consuming methamphetamine, classified as a Category 1 narcotic.
