ANG THONG: Authorities in Ang Thong are investigating a violent altercation at a local restaurant that resulted in the death of a high-profile individual and the serious injury of a police officer. The incident, which has drawn significant attention, occurred during a confrontation between two influential figures, prompting police to focus on collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Paisarn Phruekchamnong, Commander of the Ang Thong Provincial Police, has convened an investigation team at the Ang Thong City Police Station to expedite the inquiry into the shooting. During the altercation, one of the involved parties, described as a “big shot,” was fatally shot by police, while a police officer sustained serious stab wounds. The commander has instructed officers to gather evidence and identify all individuals captured on CCTV footage for questioning. Among those called for additional information is a 35-year-old woman who was present with the deceased during the incident.
The female witness reported that she was acquainted with a friend of the deceased, though she had only recently met the deceased himself. She indicated that the altercation may have been sparked by another individual’s recording of a video clip, which allegedly provoked discontent among the parties involved, ultimately leading to the violent exchange.
Pol. Col. Phruekchamnong assured that justice would be impartially served to all parties involved, emphasizing a commitment to treating both sides fairly and pursuing prosecution as warranted by the evidence.
