Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul Begins Diplomatic Mission in Vietnam

Hanoi: The Prime Minister has arrived in Vietnam and will begin his first task immediately. The Prime Minister and his delegation have arrived in Hanoi and will immediately begin their duties, meeting with high-ranking Vietnamese leaders and private sector representatives from both countries to continue cooperation and achieve tangible results.

According to Thai News Agency, today (Monday, June 8, 2026) at 10:00 AM (Hanoi local time, which is the same as Thailand time), Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, along with Mrs. Thanon Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister's wife, and their delegation, arrived at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi, Socialist Republic of Vietnam. They were welcomed by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, Minister of Ethnicity and Religious Affairs of Vietnam, in his capacity as the honorary minister.

The Prime Minister's spokesperson said the Prime Minister is ready to begin his duties immediately upon arrival. In the morning, he will meet with Thai private sector representatives operating in Vietnam and witness the exchange of cooperation documents between the private sectors of both countries. Following this, he will hold discussions with Vietnamese private sector representatives to exchange views and suggestions on ways to promote economic cooperation between the two countries.

The afternoon schedule for the Thai Prime Minister's official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam includes a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bac Son Martyrs' Monument and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, followed by an official welcoming ceremony at the Vietnamese Government Palace and plenary discussions between the two sides. This will be followed by a courtesy call on the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam and a dinner hosted by the Vietnamese Prime Minister in honor of the Thai Prime Minister.

Tomorrow morning (June 9, 2026), the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) to exchange views on the region's challenges and opportunities, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation for ASEAN's future.

The Prime Minister will then pay a courtesy call on Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and attend a luncheon hosted by the General Secretary of the Party.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will attend the Thailand-Vietnam Investment and Business Forum, organized by the Board of Investment (BOI), and hold further discussions with key Vietnamese private sector representatives to promote cooperation in trade, investment, and economic connectivity between the two countries.

After completing their mission, the Prime Minister and his delegation will return to Thailand later that evening.
