Ayutthaya: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul opened the 2025 Ayutthaya World Heritage Festival, emphasizing the importance of preserving Thailand's invaluable heritage. The event, held at Ayutthaya Historical Park, seeks to foster unity in conserving this cultural treasure for future generations.According to Thai News Agency, the opening ceremony was attended by key figures including Ms. Thanon Nirami, Chairperson of the Cabinet Spouses Association; Mr. Surasak Panjaroenvorakul, Minister of Higher Education; and Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, among others.The Prime Minister highlighted Ayutthaya's historical significance as Thailand's capital for over 419 years, serving as a hub for governance, trade, and culture. He noted the city's unique Siamese identity, shaped by its rich cultural blend and ancient city planning.He also pointed out Ayutthaya's designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which stands as a source of national pride. The festival serves as both a celebration of Ayutthaya's past and a call for unity in preserving its legacy.During the event, the Prime Minister invoked blessings from sacred entities in Ayutthaya to ensure the festival's success and prosperity for its people. The festival, running from February 13-22, 2026, features various activities, including cultural exhibitions, food street events, and a light and sound show.The Governor of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province emphasized the event's role in promoting tourism and showcasing Ayutthaya's historical grandeur to both Thai and international visitors. The festival is supported by government agencies and local organizations.Throughout his visit, Prime Minister Anutin engaged with OTOP entrepreneurs, participated in exhibitions, and commanded a drone light show, honoring historical figures and events. The public warmly welcomed his presence, highlighting the community's enthusiasm for the festival.
