Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul Visits Train-Bus Collision Victims at Camillian Hospital


Bangkok: The Prime Minister of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, paid a visit to Camillian Hospital to check on the individuals injured in the recent train-bus collision which led to multiple injuries and fatalities. Two of the six injured persons, a bus conductor and a bus passenger, remain in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).



According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Anutin was accompanied by several officials, including Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Minister of Transport Siriphong Angkasakulkiat, and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Arsit Sampanrat. Executives from the State Railway of Thailand and the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) also joined the visit. Upon arriving at the hospital, Mr. Anutin consulted with Dr. Nattapol Kalapaksee, the Medical Director, and Father Peter Pakavee Sengcharoen, the Director of Camillian Hospital, regarding the medical status of the injured parties. Observers noted that the Prime Minister appeared concerned as he made his way to the elevator, accompanied by the medical team, to visit those receiving treatment in both the ICU and regular hospital rooms.



Out of the 24 individuals initially admitted to Camillian Hospital following the incident, 18 have been discharged. The remaining six patients are still receiving medical attention, with two in the ICU. During his visit, the Prime Minister presented a fruit basket to the injured patients, and the Ministry of Transport offered a basket of health drinks. Additionally, representatives from insurance companies visited the hospital to discuss potential compensation for the victims.
