Prime Minister Confirms Loi Krathong Festival to Proceed as Planned

Bangkok: The Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, has announced that the Loi Krathong festival will take place this year without any cancellations. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior has issued a letter providing detailed guidelines to ensure that all provinces can conduct their events as usual.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin emphasized the importance of continuing activities that honor and preserve Thai traditions, even during periods of mourning, such as the birthday anniversary of King Rama IX. He cited the recent Blackpink concert as an example of an event that was conducted smoothly and respectfully.

When questioned about possible concerns from government agencies, Anutin assured that there is no cause for worry. He stated that government agencies are well-equipped to manage the situation, adhering to the established measures and guidelines. This preparation ensures that activities can proceed smoothly, maintaining respect for mourning periods while allowing traditional events to take place.
