Pro Jin and Pro May Lead Thai Golfers in AIG Women’s Open 2026

Bangkok: "Pro Jin" and "Pro May" are spearheading the Thai contingent at the 50th AIG Women's Open 2026, the final major tournament of the year in women's golf. The tournament, with a prize pool of US$10 million (approximately 335 million baht), is set to take place at Royal Lytham and St Annes in Lancashire, England, from July 30th to August 2nd. A total of 144 golfers will compete, including world number one Nelly Korda from the United States, world number two Attaya Thitikul, and last year's champion, world number six Miyu Yamashita from Japan, who will be defending her title.According to Thai News Agency, the other Thai golfers participating are Ariya Jutanugarn, who won this tournament in 2016, along with Pajaree Anannarukan, Papangkorn Dhawatanakit, Chanettee Wannasen, Apichaya Yubol, and Anchisa Utama, who earned her first Major appearance after claiming victory at the Ladies European Tour in the Netherlands in June.Pro Jin expressed her views on the scheduling of major tournaments, advocating for a more balanced distribution throughout the season. She emphasized that such adjustments could benefit women's golf, highlighting the growing diversity of winners and the increasing prize money. Pro Jin hopes these developments will attract more golf enthusiasts to witness the skillful and elegant performances of the players.
