Registered Voters for Social Security Board Elections Surpass 450,000

Bangkok: The number of registered voters for the upcoming Social Security Board elections has surpassed 450,000, with the government urging citizens to exercise their right to vote. Registration for the election has exceeded 450,000 people in just seven days, with voting open until July 15th. Every vote is considered crucial.

According to Thai News Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Patthadarasmi Thongslueykorn, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, highlighted the Ministry of Labour's invitation for insured persons and employers nationwide to participate in the 2026 Social Security Board elections. This election is pivotal in determining the management direction of the Social Security Fund, a critical guarantee for Thai workers and insured persons.

The deputy spokesperson emphasized the significance of the Social Security Board election as a platform for insured persons and employers to select representatives who will contribute to policy-making and oversee the management of the social security fund. The focus is on ensuring the fund's efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness to the needs of insured persons.

The Social Security Office has opened registration for voting rights from June 1st to July 15th, 2026, with the Ministry of Labour extending full support, including a 45-day registration period. Insured persons and employers can choose their preferred voting district nationwide.

Data from the Social Security Office as of June 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM, indicates that 455,146 people have registered to vote. This includes 892 employer registrants and 454,254 employee registrants. Among them, 393,945 are insured under Section 33, 47,507 under Section 39, 6,022 under Section 40, and 6,343 are former insured persons, reflecting significant public interest in this election.

Insured persons can register via the SSO Plus application, while both insured persons and employers can register through the e-Self Service system on the Social Security Office website or at any Social Security Office nationwide. After the registration period closes on July 15, 2026, the Social Security Office will announce the list of eligible voters on August 10, 2026, with the nationwide election scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Captain Pattarasmi stated, 'Every vote matters to the future of the Social Security Fund. The government invites insured persons and employers with the right to vote to register and exercise their right to vote as much as possible to jointly determine the direction of fund management to effectively and transparently meet the needs of insured persons.'
