Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army has received a significant boost in morale and financial support from Tap Aksara Publishing House, aiming to assist soldiers impacted by the ongoing situation at the Thai-Cambodian border.
According to Thai News Agency, General Boonsin Padklang, serving as an Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, presided over a ceremonial donation of 100,000 baht from Tap Aksara Publishing House, a part of Wannakawi Group Co., Ltd. Ms. Wanna Maichum, representing the publishing house, conveyed the intent to contribute the funds to the Army Welfare Fund. This ceremony was held in Reception Room 221 at the Army Headquarters.
The Army Welfare Fund is designed to enhance the welfare of military personnel and their families, utilizing income from Army welfare programs and donations from different organizations. This initiative aims to provide additional welfare benefits beyond what the government offers, helping military personnel live with dignity and honor.
The funds donated are sourced from the sales of the book "A Life Without Regrets," which narrates the journey of General Boonsin from his early life through his retirement, highlighting key events during the Thai-Cambodian conflict.
In addition to the financial aid, Tap Aksara Publishing House has distributed 500 copies of the book to school libraries across the country.
