Samrit Tansap Addresses MP Idea’s Involvement in Investigation

Chaiyaphum:Samrit Tansap, a Member of Parliament for Chaiyaphum from the Bhumjaithai Party, discussed the situation involving Ms. Suchada Sang Tansap, also an MP for Chaiyaphum. She recently accompanied her husband, Mr. Taiyang Sang, to meet with investigators from the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) concerning a case linked to online gambling and scam networks.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Samrit stated that he learned about the case through the news and found it consistent with his daughter's account. He described the situation as a political issue rather than an internal party matter. He dismissed rumors of information leaks from the party, attributing such talk to political speculation.

Mr. Samrit expressed confidence in his daughter and son-in-law, emphasizing that the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the DSI were conducting investigations. He believes the results will provide clarity and prevent public confusion. The NACC had previously noted discrepancies in MP Ideer's asset declaration, which Mr. Samrit considered common among MPs.

He mentioned that despite the ongoing investigation, MP Ideer remains in good spirits and continues to engage positively with her constituents. She has also prepared to participate in the upcoming Bun Krathup Out Phansa festival. Mr. Samrit reassured that the local community holds MP Ideer in high regard compared to past MPs and that there is no need to explain the case further to them. He also refuted claims that the Bhumjaithai Party would disown her, describing such assertions as mere opinions.
