Samut prakan: Police, along with rescue teams and divers, are continuing the search for those missing after a pontoon capsized in Samut Prakan province.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwphan, Deputy Inspector General of the Royal Thai Police and spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, stated that the barge capsized opposite Suk Sawat 84, Suk Sawat Road, Pak Khlong Bang Pla Kod Subdistrict, Phra Samut Chedi District, at approximately 12:15 PM yesterday. The incident resulted in five people being injured and one person missing. Pol. Col. Pojanakorn Kanchina, Superintendent of Phra Samut Chedi Police Station, and Pol. Lt. Col. Thanan Manuchanthrath, Inspector of Marine Police Station 3, Division 4, Marine Police Bureau, led the search efforts.
The investigation revealed that six crew members were on board at the time of the accident. The five injured individuals were rescued and transported to the hospital, while the search for the missing person continues. Authorities intensified their efforts throughout the evening, but due to high waves in the Chao Phraya River, the search was suspended at 7:52 PM. Efforts are set to resume this morning, as teams remain committed to locating the missing crew member.
