Severe Flooding in Rayong Prompts Aid Efforts

Rayong:Flooding in Ban Khai district, Rayong Province, has caused significant disruptions, with water from a major canal overflowing after continuous rain. The inundation has affected roads around Phai Lom market and the municipal area, leaving some routes impassable for small vehicles. Residents have been forced to navigate through flooded areas to access food and essential supplies.

According to Thai News Agency, Xin Ke Yuan Steel Co., Ltd. is actively assisting affected residents by dispatching three large trucks to deliver over 1,000 food packages, water, and snacks. This effort aims to alleviate the hardship faced by the community.

The company has utilized ten-wheel trucks to transport relief supplies to various locations, including Ban Khai Subdistrict Municipality, Chak Bok Subdistrict Municipality, Takhan Subdistrict, and Ban Khai Pattana Subdistrict Municipality. Employees and consultants from the company are directly involved in distributing the supplies to those in need.

Reports from Ban Khai District indicate severe flooding around the district office and market community, with water levels in some areas exceeding 1.20 meters. This has forced some residents to relocate their belongings to higher ground and seek essential supplies due to the flooding of their homes.

The flooding in Ban Khai is part of a broader issue affecting Rayong province. On September 28, the governor ordered a coordinated response to provide assistance across several districts. The Rayong Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office reported 17 flood points throughout the province, impacting approximately 450 households across Ban Khai, Ta Khan, and Chak Bok subdistricts. Continued monitoring and assistance efforts are underway to address the situation.
