Soldiers Mobilize to Aid After Destructive Fire on Rama VI Road

Bangkok: Soldiers have been deployed to assist citizens following a destructive house fire on Rama VI Road in the Pathumwan district. The 1st Army Region took immediate action by dispatching soldiers to the scene, where numerous houses were engulfed in flames.

According to Thai News Agency, the fire erupted in a residential area near Wat Borom Niwat, adjacent to the mackerel factory on Rama VI Road, Soi 15, Rong Mueang Subdistrict in Bangkok. The 1st Army Area, including personnel from the 2nd Cavalry Division (Reserve) and the 11th Military District, was promptly on-site. Their efforts were focused on aiding relevant agencies in evacuating residents and moving their belongings from high-risk areas. The soldiers also played a crucial role in assisting firefighters to control and extinguish the blaze.

A temporary shelter has been set up at Wat Sarabua School to provide care to those affected. So far, 58 households, comprising 62 families, have registered at the shelter, with one individual opting to stay there. Initial reports mention that three people sustained injuries and were transported to different hospitals: Police Hospital, Central Hospital, and Hua Chiao Hospital. Additionally, one volunteer staff member is being treated for smoke inhalation.

In response to the crisis, the Commander of the 1st Army Area has instructed the 2nd Cavalry Division to deploy mobile field kitchens. These kitchens are distributing food to those affected by the fire at the temporary shelter at Wat Sarabua School.
